The team at Specialeyes Newcastle by Susan Walton Optometrist are committed to preventing and managing the spread of COVID-19
Hand Hygiene
Hand Sanitiser is provided at multiple locations within the practice, and we ask that each patient uses this on arrival, or washes their hands with the soap provided in our bathroom.
This should be done according to the recommended hand washing technique by the Australian Department of Health.
Social Distancing
Maintaining a minimum of 1.5m between staff and individual patients where possible within the practice.
To help maintain social distance within the practice, we also request that one patient per appointment enters the practice (except for patients under 16 or those requiring a carer).
Facility Hygiene
Disinfecting any surfaces that a patient comes into contact with between each patient. This will be performed either with a soapy wash or disinfectant.
Each frame that is taken off the shelf and tried on is cleaned and sanitised before being returned to display.
Employee Responsibilities
Protection against infection for the Specialeyes team is very important to us. Any member of the team showing any respiratory symptoms will be asked to stay home.
Patient Responsibilities
We will request you reschedule if you have:
- A fever or any flu like symptoms
- Had any contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case in the past 14 days
